Barney Frank back on the campaign fundraising trail

Back in April 2014, we reported on the Tribeca Film Festival premiere of Compared to What: The Improbable Journey of Barney Frank, a delightful documentary portrait of the witty, outspoken former Massachusetts Congressman and gay pioneer. Box Office Mojo had reported that the film would be opening in theatres this Friday, but after contacting the producers we discovered that the film is still seeking completion funds for archival footage and music fees—the bane of many an independent documentary—along with sound mix and color correction costs. The producers have launched a Kickstarter campaign to secure that money; with 27 days left, the project has raised $19,000 of its $85,000 goal. If Barney Frank has inspired you in any way, or if you just want to help an engaging documentary find its way to theatres, think about adding your name to the roster.
