CinemaCon screenings to feature Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos

Dolby announced that CinemaCon 2017 attendees will be able to experience Dolby Atmos audio and Dolby Vision imaging in the Colosseum at Las Vegas’ Caesars Palace with a special screening of Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales on Tuesday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. as part of The Walt Disney Studios’ 2017 presentation.

Dolby has temporarily equipped the Colosseum theatre with Dolby Atmos and a Dolby Vision laser projection system to support presentations and screenings throughout the week’s events.

Dolby also revealed a slate of new and upcoming Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision titles for Dolby Cinema, including Warner Bros. Pictures’ King Arthur: Legend of the Sword (May 12), Paramount Pictures’ Baywatch (May 26), STX Entertainment’s Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (July 21), and Warner Bros.’ Annabelle 2, (August 11), The LEGO NINJAGO Movie (September 21), Blade Runner 2049 (October 6) and Justice League (November 17).

To date, there have been over 80 titles mastered in Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for Dolby Cinema. Currently, there are over 80 Dolby Cinema screens globally with 65 Dolby Cinema at AMC locations in the U.S. There are more than 300 Dolby Cinema locations committed to around the globe.

Dolby also announced that it has reached a major milestone of more than 1,000 Dolby Atmos screens installed in Asia-Pacific and another 100 Dolby Atmos screens in Russia. Currently there are over 2,700 Dolby Atmos screens installed or committed to globally, with more than 650 titles announced.

Dolby will be at CinemaCon booth 2503A to showcase its full range of offerings.
