RealD extends deals with Village Cinemas, Amalgamated Holdings

RealD Inc. extended its license of 3D systems to Australia’s Village Cinemas. Village will utilize RealD 3D cinema systems across their screens, continuing a long-term partnership in place since 2005.

“We’re delighted to continue our association with 3D pioneers RealD,” said Kirk Edwards, CEO of Village Cinemas. “Village Cinemas truly is ‘where movies live’, and we’re excited to be able to continue an immersive cinematic experience through our partnership with RealD.”

RealD also extended its license of 3D systems to leading Australia entertainment and hospitality and leisure company Amalgamated Holdings Limited.The deal will see brands including Event, BCC Cinemas and Greater Union utilizing RealD 3D cinema systems across 445 screens in Australia and New Zealand. The long-term partnership has been in place since 2009.
