Carmike opens Tiger 13 in Alabama

Carmike Cinemas opened the new Tiger 13 entertainment complex featuring its “BigD” premium experience in Opelika, Alabama, on May 1. All guests who visit the Tiger 13 during the opening-weekend celebration will enjoy a special concessions promotion that includes a medium drink and popcorn for $5.
 
The 13-screen theatre accommodates over 2,800 guests with stadium seating, high-back rocking luxury seats and retractable armrests. The BigD, Carmike’s premium large-screen auditorium, seats 580 patrons. All auditoriums in the Tiger 13 contain wall-to-wall screens, DLP digital projection and digital surround sound. The new complex also provides special services for visually and hearing impaired patrons using Sony Closed Captioning glasses as well as descriptive and amplified audio.

Carmike also announced that it will open a new 10-screen entertainment complex featuring its Big D auditorium in Yulee, Florida. The new theatre will be furnished with 10 screens and have total seating capacity for more than 1,700 guests. The BigD will seat 357 patrons.
