Imax, Korean chain pact for up to 15 more

TORONTO -- Giant screen exhibitor Imax Corp. has pacted with Korean chain CJ CGV Co. to install up to 15 joint venture digital theatre systems, starting later this year.
The latest deal with the Korean exhibitor will also see Imax upgrade four existing film-based Imax theatres to digital systems.
Imax currently has five locations in the CJ CGV Co. circuit, including screens in Seoul, Daegu and Gwangju.
CJ CGV will add 10 new joint venture locations around Korea, with an option to launch another five screens.
