ShoWest fetes Zach Galifianakis

Zach Galifianakis, star of Warner Bros.' upcoming laugher "Due Date," will be honored as comedy star of the year at ShoWest 2010.
He will be feted at the awards gala set to close the exhibition confab March 18. ShoWest opens March 15 at Bally's and Paris hotels in Las Vegas.

"Zach Galifianakis has a knack for making audiences laugh till it hurts through the comedic characters he plays," ShoWest managing director Robert Sunshine said.
Todd Phillips, who directed an ensemble cast including Galifianakis in 2009 comedy "The Hangover," also is directing "Due Date," set for release Nov. 5. Phillips has been named 2010 ShoWest director of the year.
Bradley Cooper, another member of the "Hangover" ensemble, was last year's ShoWest comedy honoree.
