Malco Kids Fest raises $50,000 for local hospitals

Malco Theatres’ 2013 Kids Summer Film Fest generated over $50,000 for local children’s hospitals. The annual festival offered reduced-admission family favorite films on Tuesdays and Wednesdays throughout the summer at multiple locations in Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi and Kentucky.
 
Beneficiaries include LeBonheur Children’s Hospital (Memphis, TN), Arkansas Children’s Hospital (Little Rock, AR), the Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital (Jackson, MS), Kosair Children’s Hospital (Louisville, KY) and the Monroe Carell, Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt (Nashville, TN). Formal check presentations are being planned for a later date.
 
Memphis, TN-based Malco Theatres is a fourth-generation family-owned and operated business that will reach its 100th anniversary in 2015. Malco operates over 300 screens at 30 locations across the mid-South, as well as bowling centers in Louisiana.
 
Malco recently completed the renovation of the Ridgeway Cinema Grill (formerly the Ridgeway Four Cinema) in Memphis and the Forest Hill Cinema in Germantown, Tennessee.  Additional locations are slated to open in Oxford, MS; Olive Branch, MS; Gonzales, LA; Millington, TN; and Jackson, TN, along with several unannounced locations.
