Anne Hathaway, Jim Sturgess eye 'One Day'
March 12, 2010
Anne Hathaway and Jim Sturgess are in early negotiations to star in "One Day," an adaptation of a David Nicholls novel that Lone Scherfig is directing for Focus Features.
Nina Jacobson is producing via her Color Force banner, along with Random House Films.
"Day" revolves around Dexter and Emma, who meet for the first time during their graduation in 1988 and proceed to meet one day a year for the next 20 years. The story tracks their lives and loves until they realize they are meant for each other.
Repped by CAA and Management 360, Hathaway is on screen as the White Queen in Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland." She is coming off shooting "Love and Other Drugs," which reunited her with her "Brokeback Mountain" co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal.
ICM-repped Sturgess recently wrapped Peter Weir's "The Way Back," Spitfire Pictures' World War II drama that also stars Colin Farrell and Saoirse Ronan. The actor, best known for starring in "Across the Universe," has a voice role in Zack Snyder's upcoming animated feature "Legends of the Guardians."
