Corinth Releasing announced the 50th-anniversary re-release of
Federico Fellini’s 8 1/2. The film will initially open at
New York City’s Quad Cinema on March 8, 2013.
Fellini's surreal self-portrait, centered on a creatively blocked
film director named Guido Anselmi, won the Oscar for Best
Foreign-Language Film and was nominated for its direction and
screenplay. The iconic Italian film stars Marcello Mastroianni as
Fellini’s alter ego, along with screen beauties Claudia Cardinale,
Anouk Aimée and Sandra Milo.
The film first debuted in the U.S. on June 25, 1963, at Manhattan’s
Festival and Embassy theatres.
