Jose Fernando Soriano Barrantes, general manager of South American
theatre circuit CinePlanet, will be honored with the “International
Achievement Award in Exhibition” at the ShowEast Convention in
Orlando, Florida.
“ShowEast is thrilled to recognize such an important and highly
regarded executive of the international exhibition community,”
stated Robert Sunshine, managing director of ShowEast. “At
CinePlanet, Soriano Barrantes has played a key role growing the
cinema’s presence in Latin America.”
Soriano Barrantes joined CinePlanet as sales manager for all
CinePlanet movie theatres in July 2005. Just one year later, in
2006, he assumed operations management as operations manager for
the territories of Peru and Chile. Three years later, in 2009, he
advanced to general manager.
CinePlanet currently has 20 cinema complexes and 158 screens in
Peru and Chile.
Prior to his tenure at CinePlanet, Soriano Barrantes worked for
such prestigious companies as Unilever, Pepsi Cola and
Interbev.
ShowEast 2010 will take place Oct. 10-14 at the Orlando World
Center Marriott.
