Odeon/UCI's Paul Donovan to keynote at CineEurope

Paul Donovan, the newly appointed CEO of Odeon/UCI, will present the keynote address at the CineEurope opening ceremony on June 16 at the Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona (CCIB) in Barcelona, Spain.

“We are delighted that Paul Donovan will present the keynote address at this year’s CineEurope opening ceremony,” stated Robert Sunshine, managing director of CineEurope. “With Odeon/UCI being the largest exhibition company in Europe, we are honored that Paul will share his views of the current world of European cinema exhibition.”

Donovan brings over 25 years of experience working at the senior level for international consumer goods and technology companies to Odeon/UCI. Prior to joining the group, he led a successful company transformation as CEO of the Eircom Group, Ireland’s leading telecommunications company. He also held the position of CEO for emerging markets for the Vodafone Group, where he was a member of the group executive committee. ((Donovan’s extensive professional background includes marketing roles with Apple Computers, BT, Cable and Wireless, as well as a decade in the consumer-goods industry, including roles at The Coca-Cola Company and Schweppes Beverages. He has also held numerous board memberships across the globe and is currently a non-executive director of Millicom International Cellular SA and Exide Technologies in Norway and Sweden.

CineEurope will take place June 16-19 and will feature screenings of upcoming Hollywood films, sponsored events, timely seminars and a tradeshow. CineEurope is the official convention of the Union Internationale des Cinémas/International Union of Cinemas (UNIC).
