Carmike to raise funds for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

May 2, 2014

Carmike Cinemas announced that its guests and associates will again team up on a fundraising campaign in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals®.

Since 1996, the joint effort has helped raise more than $8.6 million for local member CMN Hospitals, many of which are spread throughout Carmike’s national circuit footprint. For more than three decades, CMN Hospitals has been raising needed funds and awareness for local children’s hospitals. Today, CMN Hospitals encompasses 170 member hospitals that provide 32 million treatments annually for children across the U.S. and Canada.

Carmike Cinemas president and CEO David Passman stated, “Carmike is truly honored to once again partner with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals for a May fundraising campaign, now entering its 19th year. With the support of Carmike’s extraordinarily generous guests alongside our enthusiastic team at more than 250 locations, we are hoping to shatter our previous record of donations this year while continuing our partnership with the efforts of this tremendous organization.”

Like all Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraisers, 100 percent of the money raised from Carmike’s campaign will help fund needed medical care, equipment and therapy programs that save and improve the lives of one in 10 children across North America every year.

"Since 1996, Carmike Cinemas has raised an impressive $8.6 million for local children's hospitals," said John Lauck, president and CEO at Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. "Thanks to Carmike's continuous support through the Miracle Balloon campaign, customers and employees are able to have an impact on children's healthcare in their community. We can't wait to see how May moviegoers respond to our trailer and the opportunity to make a real difference for local kids."
