B&B Theatres saves two Missouri drive-ins

March 31, 2014

B&B Theatres announced the acquisition of The Twin Drive-In in Independence, MO, and the four screen I-70 Drive-In in Kansas City, MO.

The two drive-ins were facing closure when Hollywood stops making 35mm film in the near future. B&B Theatres pledged to not only save these classic drive ins but also to help them to thrive, as digital projectors have been installed, concession options are being modified and improved, and Internet is being connected so credit cards can be accepted.

Bob Bagby, president of B&B, said, "At one time we operated 14 drive-ins in the Midwest, so we are kind of going back to our roots. I just couldn't let these longstanding entertainment staples close, as they have been around for over 50 years. We are excited to add these properties to our growing circuit.”
