'Tangshan Earthquake' premiere uses Barco d-cinema projectors
July 14, 2010
With a width of almost 33 meters, the screen used was ten meters wider than an IMAX screen, making it the largest screen in the world.
Zhonglei Wang, CEO of Huayi Brothers, stated: “Tangshan Earthquake bears great significance for the Chinese people, in particular for the citizens of Tangshan. We chose Tangshan as the location of our premiere, because the film shows the inspirational moral character of the people of Tangshan. We hope that their resilience and perseverance will serve as an example for the whole nation… Only Barco's ultra-bright DP2K-32B solution could meet the expectation of broadcasting the movie live to ten-thousand viewers.”
