China's Evergrande Cinema Line selects GDC for digital rollout

Aug 20, 2014

Evergrande Cinema Line Management Co., Ltd. selected GDC Technology as its technology partner to provide approximately 300 units of SX-3000 Standalone Integrated Media Block (IMB) and 30 sets of Theatre Management Systems (TMS) at its cineplexes in China. As of August 13, GDC’s IMB and TMS had already been deployed in 15 Evergrande cineplexes.

Established in 2010, Evergrande Cinema Line is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed company Evergrande Group, a conglomerate that focuses on residential property development and is engaged in FMCG, commercial, hotel, sports, and culture industries. The Group possesses close to 300 large-scale projects across 147 major cities in China.

Evergrande Cinema Line is one of the Group’s subsidiaries specialized in theatre investment, development and management; its mission is to build a boutique cinema line with “top cinemas, first-class team, superior service and premium brand.” Evergrande Cinema Line has up to 108 cineplexes under planning and construction in China, and it is aiming for over 10% market share in the coming five years. Evergrande's first complexes are in Xian, Zhongshan, Yueyang and Danzhou.

“Stable and reliable hardware and software are both essential for a top cinema line in China,” said Guangwei Li, general manager of Evergrande Cinema Line. “After stringent comparison and analysis over a long period of time, we have come to a conclusion that GDC’s IMB and TMS are compliant with all our requirements.”
“We are glad that Evergrande Cinema Line selected GDC in their illustrious cinema multiplex deployment plan,” said Dr. Man-Nang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC Technology.
