Barco demonstrates its new 4K digital projector

Sept 3, 2010

Barco held a live demonstration of a pre-launch version of its upcoming DLP Cinema® Enhanced 4K projector during a recent company visit by Cinemark executives. Barco will begin rolling out its 4K projector line in early 2011.

Walter Hebert, Cinemark senior VP, commented: “What we have seen from Barco during their 4K live demo last week definitely fits the bill. The images projected by Barco's DP4K-32B are without any doubt the sharpest and brightest 4K images I have ever seen. It confirms once again that we made the right choice when we decided to put our trust in Barco for our global digital-cinema rollout.”

Barco will showcase its new 4K line in October at ShowEast in Orlando, FL.

Barco also announced that its projectors will be used at the Telluride Film Festival in Telluride, CO, Sept 3-6. Cinedigm, the Festival's digital-cinema advisor, invited Barco to provide its latest DP2K-32B projector for the Festival's screening of an unnamed 3D movie. In addition, Barco is also providing a DP2K-23B and a DP2K-20C for The Palm and Chuck Jones Cinema venues showing other movies at the event.
