Curzon commits to Sony Digital Cinema 4K

June 18, 2014

Curzon, the U.K.’s leading independent cinema chain and home-cinema content provider, is investing in Sony Digital Cinema 4K technology for their cinema venues across the U.K.

The recently opened five-screen Curzon cinema in London Victoria has been fitted out with five SRX-R515 Sony Digital Cinema 4K projectors. A further seven sites across the Curzon Cinemas network will feature Sony Digital Cinema 4K and Sony Theatre Management Systems. Six of these sites’ DLP digital systems have been replaced with a mixture of Sony SRX-R515 and SRX-R320 Sony 4K digital projectors and with Sony Theatre Management Systems.

Mel Alcock, COO of Curzon Cinemas, commented: "We are very excited about the installation of the Sony 4K digital projector systems at Curzon Cinemas. Our customers will now be getting the very best digital cinema experience and can enjoy the content with crystal-clear picture quality and immersive sound thanks to Sony Digital Cinema. The Sony brand is known for delivering quality products and our customers expect a certain quality when visiting Curzon Cinemas—this was an obvious partnership decision."

David McIntosh, VP of digital cinema, Sony Europe and America, commented: “Sony is delighted to partner with Curzon Cinema to help build on its great reputation in the U.K. market for delivering an excellent cinema experience to its customers.”
