Candy-maker Taste of Nature increases production capacity

Feb 11, 2013

Taste of Nature, Inc. has expanded its production capacity with the purchase of a 60,000-square-foot facility in the Chicago suburb of Melrose Park.

The addition allows Taste of Nature to continue the growth of its panned chocolate confections, including its Cookie Dough Bites® Line, as well as to support an increase of its cotton candy production and capacity of its Shari® Candies Peg Bag Line. The company has hired 40 additional workers in the facility.

“The facility gives us room to grow our lineup of theatre boxes, peg bags, cotton candies, laydown bags and novelty items” said Douglas Chu, co-founder. “The extension of our chocolate panning operations is expected to be finished by the end of Q1, with equipment for an additional line to be installed by March.”

"We have simply run out of capacity and want the ability to support the growth our business," co-founder Scott Samet added.
