D-Box moves 50,000 moviegoers

Jan 15, 2010

D-Box Technologies announced that more than 50,000 moviegoers in North America have experienced their motion-enhanced seats during one of nine major motion pictures, which delivered over $800,000 at the box office since D-Box’s cinema debut in April 2009. D-Box now has 318 motion-enhanced seats in 13 movie theatres.

Equipped with individual intensity adjustment settings, D-Box MFX seats allow movie viewers the opportunity to further personalize the experience by adding as much or as little motion as desired. While motion sensations occur during action sequences, seats remain still during the quieter, more dialogue-driven scenes.

D-Box MFX seating is featured at UltraStar Cinemas Mission Valley in San Diego, Calif.; Santikos Theatres Silverado 19 in Tomball, Texas; Wehrenberg Theatres Ronnies 20 Cine in St. Louis, Miss.; Emagine Entertainment Canton Theatre in Canton, Mich.; Emagine Entertainment Cinema Hollywood in Birch Run, Mich.; Cinéma Beloeil, in Beloeil, Quebec; Cineplex Odeon Queensway Theatre in Etobicoke, Ontario; Mann Chinese 6 Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif.; Theatres at Mall of America in Bloomington, Minn.; Galaxy at the Cannery in Las Vegas, Nev.; Galaxy Highland Theatre in Austin, Texas; UltraStar Cinemas in Surprise, Ariz.; and UltraStar Apple Valley in San Bernardino, Calif.
