New technology venture Cinionic to debut at CinemaCon 2018
At CinemaCon 2018, visitors will meet Cinionic and be the first to see new experiences designed to wow audiences and help exhibitors streamline their business operations. Cinionic harnesses more than a decade of Barco cinema technology and market leadership.
“We are in the midst of a changing cinema landscape, where exhibitors must deliver increasingly immersive entertainment to captivate today’s moviegoers. We must all work together to enrich the overall cinema experience and provide guests more for their entertainment dollar, while still remaining profitable, and even growing revenues,” says Wim Buyens, CEO of Cinionic.
At CinemaCon, Cinionic will introduce Barco Smart Laser High Contrast projectors, designed for smaller screens. Cinionic also wants exhibitors to consider a new approach to laser by retrofitting their current projectors and taking advantage of “Laser as a Service.” This enables clients to upgrade current projectors and enjoy the superior image quality and operational efficiency benefits of laser.
Cinionic will also highlight turnkey lobby solutions to drive engagement through immersive, interactive entertainment—from haptic movie posters to full lobby takeovers. Augmented Reality and Family VR will also be presented. Cinionic will also debut Vision 2020, a new Barco projection concept that “boosts movie quality to never-before-seen levels.”
