Geneva Convention to honor Ron Krueger and Michael Rosenberg
The Geneva Convention will present its 2017 Larry D. Hanson Award to Ron Krueger II, president and CEO of Southern Theatres. The award honors an individual who is passionate about the motion picture industry and is a selfless advocate for independent theatre owners.
Krueger has over 25 years of experience in the film exhibition industry, with a prior tenure at St. Louis, MO-based Wehrenberg Theatres. He serves on the advisory board of the National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) and on the boards of several charitable organizations including Shriners Hospital for Children in St. Louis (2007-2016), and Variety the Children’s Charity (2010-present). Krueger also served on the board of the National Association of Concessionaires (NAC) from 1995 to 2013, including tenures as board chairman from 2011 to 2013 and president from 2009 to 2011.
The Geneva Covention will also honor Michael Rosenberg, president and CEO of Promotion in Motion, with the Paul J. Rogers Leadership Award. Rosenberg started Rosenberg & Co. Enterprises from his college dormitory room with $150. By August 1980, he had amassed $10,000 and formally incorporated the business, which was subsequently renamed Promotion in Motion, Inc.
Thirty-seven years later, the Promotion in Motion Companies, Inc. continues to expand and diversify domestically and globally. As one of the largest confectionery and snack-food manufacturers in North America, the company produces such favorites as Welch’s Fruit Snacks, Sun-Maid Milk Chocolate Raisins, Fisher Milk Chocolate Peanuts and Sour Jacks, among others.
In 1997, Rosenberg helped establish the inaugural All Candy Expo (now Sweets & Snacks Expo), taking on duties as chairman for several of those years.
The Geneva Convention will take place Sept. 12-14 at Grand Geneva Resort in Lake Geneva, WI.
