Lumyer, a photo and video enhancement app, has debuted eight new special video effects in partnership with Universal Pictures and Illumination Entertainment’s new animated comedy, Sing. The release of the video effects comes in advance of the movie’s Dec. 21 release.

Available for both iOS and Android, Lumyer allows anyone to augment reality by adding video and audio effects to both selfies and videos. With more than 10 million downloads and the creation of more than 30 million Lumys in only its first year, Lumyer has been adopted by users who wanted to be creative with their photos by adding a variety of video effects. Lumyer landed the #2 spot on Google Play’s “Top Trending Apps of 2016,” announced earlier this month.

The custom Sing Lumys allow users to incorporate the video and audio effects of Sing characters Buster Moon, Rosita, Gunter and Meena into photos and videos as if the characters are right in the photo or video.

“Working with Universal Pictures’ Sing is an incredible opportunity for Lumyer,” co-founder Diego Mortillaro said. “The Lumys created will engage audiences and let them interact with the characters before and after the movie.”

Earlier this year, Lumyer worked with the Universal Pictures Halloween movie Ouija to bring scary video animations into fans’ images.
