MoviePass named former Viacom and Spotify exec as chief product officer
Mike Berkley, a former product leader at Spotify, Viacom and Comcast, will join MoviePass Inc. as chief product officer beginning this week. His breadth of experience ranges from general management of new subscription businesses, to multiplatform product strategy for major cable networks, to user experience and technology development.
Under Berkley’s guidance, the product and technology teams will continue developing the MoviePass service, platform, and methods for harnessing consumer behavior intelligence to create a more customized and valuable end-user experience.
Berkley was most recently senior VP of product management at Viacom, responsible for new digital products, mobile apps, video, monetization, data and content-management platforms.
"MoviePass is one of the most exciting companies to emerge in the entertainment industry in recent years,” said Berkley. “Just as Netflix has ushered in a renaissance for TV, MoviePass is on the path to do the same for theatrical movies."

Prior to his time as a product management executive at Viacom, Spotify and Comcast, Berkley was the founder and CEO of a social video start-up, SplashCast, and an e-learning startup, QMIND, Inc.
