NCM's 'Noovie' provides inside look at Black Panther's super-suit
National CineMedia (NCM) is offering Marvel fans an exclusive look at the inner workings of T’Challa’s dynamic suit in Black Panther. NCM’s new “Noovie Backlot” piece features Chadwick Boseman (T’Challa) and Letitia Wright (Shuri) and debuts in theatres nationwide today. Black Panther hits theatres on Feb. 16.
Woven with Vibranium fabric mined from the Great Mound in the high-tech kingdom of Wakanda, T’Challa’s suit is formidable. When the going gets tough, T’Challa can put some distance between himself and his enemies thanks to his suit’s Kinetic Energy Absorption. “You punch it, you shoot it, boom! It goes off,” says Boseman. Any attacks made to the suit are reflected back on the Black Panther’s enemies in the form of a powerful shockwave. The Black Panther can even use the force of this blast to keep himself out of danger. “And the claws,” Boseman adds, “Retractable, also Vibranium. They cut through anything.”
“Noovie” gives audiences a look at “what’s Noovie” in their world, including movies, music and local attractions. “Noovie” replaced NCM’s “FirstLook” pre-show at AMC, Cinemark, Regal Entertainment Group and 49 other regional and local theatre chains.
The Walt Disney Studios has signed on as the premiere studio for new “Noovie Backlot” segments through June 2018, and will offer a behind-the-scenes look at upcoming films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel Studios and Lucasfilm including A Wrinkle in Time, Avengers: Infinity War, Solo: A Star Wars Story and The Incredibles 2.
