PRESS RELEASE

CINEMACON 2017/LAS VEGAS – (March 28, 2017) – Christie® is pleased to announce that Cinema Sunshine Aira Theatre, owned by Sasaki Kogyo Co. Ltd., will deploy the advanced Christie CP42LH RGB laser projection system in April to delight movie-goers wanting the ultimate 3D viewing experience.

A state-of-the-art Christie enhanced wavelength diversification (EWD) system, comprising a single 3DLP® 4K RGB laser projection head and an EWD laser light farm with fiber-optic delivery will be fitted in Auditorium 5 of Cinema Sunshine Aira Theatre.

“Sasaki Kogyo is committed to always installing the latest, most innovative technologies and that is why we chose the Christie system, which represents the pinnacle of laser-illuminated projection, as it delivers the brightest images, the truest colors and the most superior 3D movie experience currently available,” said Takehiko Sasaki, Executive Vice President, Sasaki.

“Xebex is proud to have helped scope out the plan and deliver a superior solution to Cinema Sunshine Aira Theatre,” said Akikazu Dempoya, President, Xebex Inc.

“The Christie system will illuminate a 16 by 7 meter Cinema Sunshine Aira Theatre screen with 30,000 Lumens,” confirmed Susie Beiersdorf, Christie. “We congratulate Sasaki Kogyo and our partner Xebex for choosing this industry-leading product to provide a superior image to their customers.”

The Cinema Sunshine Aira project will boast nine screens when completed, offering 1,288 seats, with an anticipated annual attendance of 300,000-plus. Auditorium 5 will be premium theatre, aptly named BESTIA, for its delivery of the BEST Immersive Audiovisual experience. A DTS:X immersive sound system from GDC will also be installed. And a 4DX system will also be installed, in Auditorium 6.

Anchored by the Christie Freedom® laser illumination system, the CP42LH produces a color gamut up to Rec. 2020, which exceeds the DCI P3 color space, making it the most advanced RGB laser cinema projection system available.

Christie offers EWD technology, which is a feature that generates white light from multiple combinations of RGB primary color wavelengths to counteract speckle, and which offers a spectacular viewing experience on the Harkness Clarus 170 Digital 3D silver screen in Auditorium 5 of Cinema Sunshine Aira Theatre.
