Silverspot Cinema in Met Square, located at 300 SE 3rd Stree in Downtown Miami, Florida, will be the first movie theatre to open in Downtown Miami since the Omni six-plex more than 40 years ago.

Silverspot Cinema houses “The Spot,” a private auditorium with its own bar and lounge. The Atmos Theater, featuring Barco laser projection, will open in the fall, as part of Phase II of the project and the opening of additional auditoriums. Upon completion of Phase II, Silverspot Miami will be the only six-story theatre in Dade and Broward Counties.

The cinema will have recliner seats and in-theatre dining service, with options including flatbreads, burgers, artisan cheeseboards, traditional concessions, hand-crafted cocktails, an extensive wine list and a full mojito bar.  Vegetarian and vegan menu items will also be available.

“Moviegoers will be able to experience their favorite movies from reserved seats, all the while enjoying fresh cuisine and fine spirits brought right to them, creating a special night out. Our new theatre at Met Square raises the bar with a one-of-a-kind experience,” said Gonzalo Ulivi, managing partner at Silverspot Cinema. “Our unique blend of event programming will include performances from the Met Opera Series, symphonic orchestras and themed festivals, appealing to not just film lovers but to art, music and entertainment lovers of all types.”

Silverspot’s programming also includes the classic-film series “Flashback Cinema,” and Silverspot Cinema Miami will provide local filmmakers opportunities to screen their movies on selected dates throughout the year. A “Culture & Cuisine” series with specialty menus will coincide with relevant feature films and mini film festivals.

Silverspot guests can register online at for the theatre’s “Spot Rewards” program, whereby they can earn ten points for every dollar spent redeemable for tickets, food and beverages and more.  Once 5,000 points are earned, the membership is upgraded to the Black Level.  At 10,000 points, members graduate to the Silver Level, earning invitations to members-only events, wine tastings and more. Each year, members receive extra points on their birthday, and once Black Level status is achieved, members also receive a complimentary movie ticket to celebrate the special day.

“With the opening of Silverspot to anchor Met Square, Metropolitan Miami is now truly the Time Warner Center of Miami,” said Florencia Tabeni, VP of MDM Hotel Group.  “The innovative design and overall quality of the Silverspot experience clearly matches our aspirations for Metropolitan Miami.” MDM Group’s Metropolitan Miami, includes the Met 1 condominium project; Met 2, which includes the JW Marriott Marquis Miami and Hotel Beaux Arts, along with the Wells Fargo Center; Met 3, home to the area’s only Whole Foods Market; and now, Met Square, which beyond Silverspot will include restaurants, retail outlets and residences.
