Harkins presents 'The Human Experience'
Harkins Theatres is presenting the exclusive release and theatrical run of The Human Experience at its Phoenix, Denver and Dallas/Ft. Worth locations. Select showtimes at seven theatres on opening weekend concluded with Q&A sessions with the filmmakers.
The Human Experience is Grassroots Films’ first full-length feature documentary. Two brothers, determined to find meaning in their lives, embark on a global journey. Weaving together encounters with the homeless of New York City,
abandoned orphans of Peru and lepers of Ghana, Africa, with commentary from
humanitarians and academic and religious experts from all backgrounds, the movie celebrates the resilience of the human spirit.
To date, the film has been viewed by more than 100,000 people at over 200 pre-screenings in 102 cities worldwide. The film was awarded Best Documentary Feature at the Maui Film Festival, Grand Prize for Best Feature Film at Toronto's Moving Image Film Festival, and Best Documentary Feature at the New York Independent International Film & Video Festival.
“The Human Experience is a film everyone should see,” said Amy Doyle, senior VP of MTV Networks. “I just saw it [play] to a sold-out, standing-ovation crowd of several hundred in Times Square. There is a youth audience for this film and very multi-cultural.”
