Barco and GDC team up for live 3D HFR demo at BIRTV

Barco and GDC Technology are teaming up to present a live demonstration of 3D content in high frame rate (HFR) utilizing GDC’s standalone Integrated Media Block (IMB), GDC’s SX-3000, and Barco’s newest S2K projector, the DP2K-10S, at the CFG-Barco booth (#2A223) at BIRTV in Beijing, August 22-25.

Barco’s DP2K-10S compact projector, based on the new S2K chipset from Texas Instruments, is designed to address the needs of smaller theatres with screens up to 33 feet (10 meters) wide. The projector meets DCI specifications for image quality, color and security, and allows for both 3D and HFR capabilities. Meanwhile, GDC’s SX-3000 IMB eliminates the need for an external file server, which greatly reduces theatre management costs and makes boothless cinemas practical. It also supports HFR content in both 2D and 3D. In addition, it allows HDMI input, 3G-SDI input and 2D and 3D live streaming for alternative content.

“We truly value our partnership with Barco,” said Dr. Man-Nang Chong, founder and CEO of GDC. “GDC Tech is proud to reach a new milestone by showing the industry’s first feature-rich Standalone IMB with Barco’s S2K projector at BIRTV.”
