CineAsia to honor UIP's Lim as 'Distributor of the Year'
CineAsia will honor Han Seng, Lim, executive director of sales and marketing for Southeast Asia at United International Pictures, with its “Distributor of the Year” award on Dec. 13 at the 2012 convention at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong.
“In the world of distribution, you couldn’t ask for a more dedicated and respected professional who has done so much for his company in bringing film into the hearts and minds of so many moviegoers in Asia,” said Robert Sunshine, CineAsia managing director.
Lim oversees the distribution and marketing functions of both UIP offices and licensees in Southeast Asia. He started with the company in 1997, working in sales and distribution for the UIP Singapore office before eventually moving to the regional office in 2000 as a management trainee. He was named Worldwide Employee of the Year in 2003 and led the region to record-breaking, company-best years in 2008 and again in 2011, handling titles such as Kung Fu Panda, Mamma Mia!, Iron Man, Transformers: Dark of the Moon and Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol.
Previous recipients of the “Distributor of the Year” award at CineAsia include: Jo Yan (Walt Disney Company Ltd.), Katharine Kim (CJ Entertainment), Sunder Kimatrai (Twentieth Century Fox International), Mark Zucker (Sony Pictures Releasing International), Erlina Suharjoho (Warner Bros.), Kurt Rieder (United International Pictures), Paul Hanneman and Tomas Jegeus (Twentieth Century Fox International), William Ireton (Warner Bros.), Jeff Forman (Buena Vista International) and Roger Pollock (UIP).
