Screenvision to present three productions from Shakespeare's Globe
Screenvision, has teamed up with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London and Arts Alliance Media to bring three of “Globe on Screen”’s 2011 theatre productions to cinemas across the U.S.
All’s Well That Ends Well premieres on Oct. 11, followed by Much Ado About Nothing on Oct. 23 and Doctor Faustus on Nov. 8. Screenvision will be targeting top U.S. cities, locations near college campuses, and independent theatres. Originally staged at Shakespeare’s Globe in 2011, the three productions will be shown in their entirety on screens in hundreds of local cinemas.
All’s Well That Ends Well features Olivier Award-winning actress Janie Dee (Me & Orson Welles) in a production directed by John Dove. Much Ado About Nothing pairs Olivier Award-winning actress Eve Best (The King’s Speech, “Nurse Jackie”) and Charles Edwards (An Ideal Husband, “Downton Abbey”) as the sparring lovers Beatrice and Benedick. Doctor Faustus is a spectacular production of Christopher Marlowe’s tragedy, directed by Matthew Dunster.
Darryl Schaffer, executive VP of exhibitor relations at Screenvision, stated, “We’re excited for the opportunity to bring this great classical theatre content from the very venue where it was created to audiences nationwide.”
