MovieTickets.com adds Empire locations in Canada
MovieTickets.com has begun remote ticketing for Empire Theatres, Canada’s second-largest cinema circuit with 53 locations and 438 screens.
Online ticketing for Empire Theatres begins in time for the chain to be a part of the MovieTickets.com campaign for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn–Part 2. MovieTickets.com began online sales for the highly anticipated film at 12:01 a.m. EDT on Oct. 1, which to date is outpacing sales of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn–Part 1 with over 27% more tickets sold at the same point in each film’s sales cycle. The fifth installment in Summit Entertainment’s blockbuster franchise, Breaking Dawn–Part 2 debuts in North American theatres at 10 p.m. on Nov. 15.
MovieTickets.com represents 257 movie theatre chains worldwide. The site, which also operates under the MovieTickets.ca brand in Canada, is designed with both English and French Canadian versions to accommodate the language preferences of moviegoers throughout the provinces. The company’s ticketing services are available in all 10 provinces and cover two-thirds of all theatre screens in Canada.
To celebrate the release of Breaking Dawn–Part 2, MovieTickets.com is holding a sweepstakes that will award the grand-prize winner with one pair of tickets to attend the film’s world premiere at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre, as well as round-trip airfare to Los Angeles and hotel accommodations. Moviegoers can enter to win by purchasing their advance tickets through MovieTickets.com.
