Marcus Theatres debuts Theatre Entertainment Network

Marcus Theatres launched The Theatre Entertainment Network, a new initiative to offer audiences a wide variety of entertainment options including concerts, opera, indie films, comedy performances and classic movies. The content will be presented at 29 Marcus locations in seven states.

The Theatre Entertainment Network debuted on Sept. 9 with one screen at each of the 29 locations dedicated to specialty programming every Monday through Thursday. Select locations will also offer additional live, one-time-only or special kids’ programs on weekends.
 
"Special programming—such as live events, classical music, opera, ballet, theater, even classic movies—is much more impactful when presented on the big screen in a theatre venue. There is also a large, underserved audience very interested in seeing these kind of events,” said Rolando Rodriguez, president and CEO of Marcus Theatres Corp. “While we’ve offered alternate entertainment for years, establishing the Theatre Entertainment Network allows us to significantly increase the number of non-traditional entertainment options and provide a truly eclectic array of entertainment options on the big screen available to our guests.”

The Theatre Entertainment Network will feature a series of movies with a different theme each month: back to school in September, horror in October, holiday classics in December, as well as musical, comedy and independent productions during the week. Tickets for most of these programs will be $5. Pricing will vary for other special events such as the Metropolitan Opera, sports, Fathom Events and the Pop3D family series.”
